Addressing your snoring problem is definitely a big leap toward wellness. You will be able to get better quality of sleep, and at the same time allow your bedroom partner to sleep well, too. Also, you would no longer have to worry so much about sleeping while in the company of other people, like when you travel long distances or go on camping trips.
If you’ve been advised by your sleep specialist to use an anti snoring mouthpiece as your snoring treatment, the good news is that you get the most comfortable treatment out of all those available. Whether you’re using a mandibular advancement device (MAD) or a tongue stabilizing device (TSD), it's important that you find the best stop snoring mouthpiece for your needs, so you can experience an effective treatment of your snoring.
Anti snoring mouthpieces need proper maintenance, though, and as mentioned earlier, they can still cause a bit of discomfort, so to help you maintain this important device that you need to wear to treat your snoring condition (and ensure your comfort in wearing them), here are some tips that you can use.
    1. For hygiene purposes, disinfect the mouthpiece first before wearing it. Clean it by soaking it in a glass with room temperate or cool water and toothpaste (non whitening and no baking soda type) or denture tablets, then after ten minutes, swish the device around in the solution and take it out to air dry — just make sure it’s thoroughly clean because you’ll have it on for a whole night.
    2. To minimize the discomfort from having a device in your mouth, it always helps to do some mouth exercises or massage to make your lips and jaws more flexible.
    3. Also for hygiene: Use a good toothpaste and mouthwash for oral care. Go for those that inhibit bacterial growth throughout the night so that not a lot of bacteria will transfer and breed in your mouthpiece. There have been some people who complained of getting sores and tonsillitis often because of their anti snoring mouthpiece – these can happen due to bacteria buildup throughout the night, so proper oral care is a must.
    4. Thoroughly clean the mouthpiece after use with the same instructions as point # 1. Dry it thoroughly after soaking and then keep it in a sanitized case.
