Sleep Apnea Got You Down? These 10 Sleep Apnea Memes Will Lift Your Mood

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) — a sleep disorder that affects an estimated 1 billion people globally — is no laughing matter. It leaves sufferers gasping for air, sometimes hundreds of times during the night. As a result, they’re sleepy and groggy during the day and develop chronic health issues if they don’t treat this problem soon enough.

If you’ve been diagnosed with sleep apnea yourself and are still in the midst of finding a solution, chances are you’re feeling down. You are dealing with a serious sleep disorder, after all, and finding a treatment that works is not always easy. And while humor won’t cure your problem, it can help make your struggle less daunting. With that said, here are 10 sleep apnea memes to change your outlook.

    1. When it comes to sleep apnea, it’s hard to tell who’s got it worse, you or the spouse.

A less-than-ideal relationship should be listed as another common symptom of untreated sleep apnea.

    2. Ever feel like Bane from The Dark Knight Rises with your CPAP on?

Yeah, we can see the resemblance, sort of.

    3. How most people react when their doctor tells them they have sleep apnea.

But doc, I got more important things to do than worry about sleep apnea.

    4. When you’re stuck in your denial phase for too long

    Whatever you say, Bob.

    5. For the ladies out there who need a little bit of encouragement.

You know that there’s nothing quite as attractive in a significant other than not snoring.

    6. It’s always a no-win situation when you have sleep apnea.

And being grumpy is part of the diagnosis.

    7. Or sleep with one eye open.

Your friends are seriously worried about you.

    8. Never tell a sleep apnea sufferer that something is “as simple as breathing.”

When you fail in even the most basic of life’s challenges.

    9. Lest we forget about the confused brain of central sleep apnea sufferers.

Of all the things your brain forgets to tell your body to do, it chooses breathing.

    10. And here’s a terrible pun just to complete our repertoire.

    LOL
